I've been in the marketing and lead generation industry since 2018, working with Realtors under the name Leadasaurus, which is still in business today.

My wife has been the head groomer at a boarding and daycare facility since early 2021, and I’ve wanted to expand into marketing for dog businesses for some time—initially thinking it would be for groomers.

Fast forward a bit, we then rescued Zeppoli (pictured) and we needed dog training ourselves, which along the way is how got the idea to see if I could do marketing for trainers.

After researching other marketing company's, I noticed a gap in the market—everyone was providing "leads", but no one was providing a warmer qualified lead, similar to what I do with Realtors for Leadasaurus. That's when I realized I could step in

What Type Of Clients Do You Serve?

First off, we do not work with everyone, and we do that for your benefit as well. To best serve you, we make sure the dog trainers we do bring on board, we feel confident would do well with us, and we do that because we have a reputation to protect.

We're typically able to identify that through the initial application you submit, or through our first conversation once we get a better understanding of your business, your current situation, and where you're trying to take things.

If you're a dog trainer who just got out of school and you're brand new to the industry, our platform is most likely not the best fit for you, but hopefully we can work together down the road once you have more of a foundation.

With all that being said, as long as we identify that we think you'd do well with us, we have clients that range from solo trainers who have only been doing it a couple of years, to those who have a facility with 5 trainers.

Success with online advertising depends on many factors, such as:

- how much you spent

- the offer and ad copy

How Fast Will I Start Seeing Results?

Upon signing up, within 1-2 days we'll have a 45 minute onboarding call. The program is normally turned on within 1-2 days after the onboarding call.

What Does Your Team Say To A Lead When They Speak To Them?

We understand that you want to make sure you're brand is being represented right. For starters, I do want to point out that our team is not overseas.

Our team's job primary job is to weed through all the inquiries that are signing up from our ads, and only connect you with those who are actually looking for dog training.

We always let the lead know that we are an assistant calling on your behalf (which makes you look bigger), and we're just calling to gather some basic info and connect them with a trainer. We are never giving training advice on your behalf, and if they bring that up in conversation, we always defer to the fact that we are just an assistant, and not the dog trainer.

What If I Prefer To Call The Leads Myself?

Having our team reach out to the leads initially is absolutely optional, just preferred, and I think for a lot of clients it would be in their best interest. A lot of factors go into having success with internet leads, but 2 of them are how fast can you call the lead when they sign up, and how many times are you going to follow up?

The average dog trainer is not able to call the leads as fast as us, nor make the amount of dials we would be able to make in that first week to get that lead on the phone.

Plus, this is a primary reason why people come onboard with us. If you've ever paid a company for leads in the past, and they did a good job bringing you leads, then you'll know usually the next bottleneck is getting those people on the phone. Usually about 20% of the leads that you get from the internet will have a bad number. And along the way you'll have people hanging up on you and telling you they didn't know what they signed up for.

Of course there are good leads in every batch, but it can be very time consuming and labor intensive to find those, and that's why we handle all the heavy lifting with the goal of only connecting you with those who are looking for dog training and ready to speak with you.

I've been doing digital marketing and lead generation for Real Estate Agents since 2018 under the brand name "Leadasaurus", but doing it for dog trainers was really something I had stumbled into, as I was someone who desperately needed dog training after my wife and I added a new member to our family named Zeppoli.

It's a long story, but I'll do my best to shorten it. Zeppoli was a Rescue, and we were actually her 3rd home.

While we knew adding a dog to our family that also consisted of 2 cats would be a lot of work, my wife is also a dog groomer at a doggy day care, so knowing Zeppoli can go with her to work everyday at the day care, made it a much easier decision.

One thing we didn't account for was separation Anxiety. Once we brought her home, Zeppoli quickly attached to my wife, Aurelia.

Adoption Day!

Our first month with her was rough. We couldn't do anything without one of us staying home. And if I was the one who had to watch Zeppoli, she would bark and moan until Aurelia came home.

Outside of separation anxiety, we tried training her on basic commands, but we couldn't get her to listen. We also tried crate training but she was afraid of crates, which made the situation all the more difficult.

We obviously couldn't continue to live our lives like this. I googled local dog trainers near me and started reaching out to them. Shortly thereafter my Facebook and Instagram feed had begun getting filled from the algorithm recommending me dog training content and dog training related ads. Over the course of the next couple of weeks I started watching a ton of those videos in my feed and I learned a lot about the industry.

After speaking with a few local dog trainers, I couldn't believe how much they charged. If you're a dog trainer, you most likely come across the pricing objection often, and I think it's just because the average consumer, which was myself, simply doesn't realize the amount of value it brings.

I always grew up with a dog in the house, and we never taught our dog really much past sit. So seeing someone else so easily accomplish more then that, and in such a short period of time, was really a mindset shift into what was possible.

Shortly thereafter, we found a solution and began taking her to training. I couldn't believe the amount of progress she was making in just 1 session, when she barely listened to us at home.

I believe the average consumer doesn't realize what's possible with dog training, and I can confidently say that because I was the average consumer.

Around this time and the weeks leading up as I was learning more about the industry, is where I got the idea for Bark Launch - a brand that scales dog training businesses by connecting them to consumers in their marketplace that desperately need dog training, just like I did.

See at this point, I’ve been doing digital marketing and lead generation for Real Estate Agents since 2018. If you know anything about how Real Estate Agents get paid, they don't get paid a commission until the home closes.

Because of that, most of our Realtor clients don't make a return on their investment until 3 months from when we started working together. It really is one of the most difficult industries to successfully do lead generation in.

Over the years I’ve innovated what we do for our Realtor Clients - We eventually built out our own appointment setting team that calls the leads for them, and schedules them on our Clients calendars. This way they don’t have to spend time each day calling a massive pool of strangers that signed up from our ads, and they can instead spend their day talking to people that are actually interested in moving soon, since our appointment setting team would have identified that.

I figured, If I can just learn out how to advertise to get dog training leads just like I do for Realtors, I can train my team to do all the initial reach outs and essentially duplicate our product just in the dog training industry.

I began looking into other dog training marketing companies a bit to see if anyone else was doing lead generation, but also had appointment setters calling the leads and following up for their Clients. There were some really great products out there, but from at least the research I had done, I didn’t see anyone doing what we could.

We went to market quick, and I launched an ad for people to join our beta program to test what we have.

Our 2nd client that we signed up, just 10 days in, got their first sale from an at home eval they went on, from a lead our team set up a phone consult for.

Within just 10 days he not only made a return on his investment, but was also able to pay for the following month. The system was now paying for itself, and he didn't have to call a single lead.

It validated that we were on the right path.

Our product has only gotten better, but I knew that if I really wanted to serve my clients at the highest level, me being a marketer can only take this thing so far. Along the way we also partnered with an amazing dog trainer who scaled his business through online advertising to help us better refine our processes, but also to help our clients get better results with what we're doing.
